David Delgado

Born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia, David Delgado fell in love with music at a very young age and started DJing when he was only 17 years old. Determined to seek a professional career in the field of electronic music, David went to England to study Sound Engineering at the renowned SAE Institute in London. Soon, David gained a foothold in London’s club scene, however after playing various gigs in Berlin, he realized that this was the right place for his music style and decided to move to Germany.

With regular appearances in many of Berlin’s legendary night clubs, from Club der Visionäre, which would eventually host his marathon Meltdown nights, regular appearances at Sisyphos and Kater Blau, to spots at Tresor, Panorama Bar, and the late, beloved Bar25, David has confidently established himself in the upper level of the German capital’s underground firmament. His musical versatility and impeccable mixing skills, the flow of the classic and the new, allow him a canny adaptability, from a spacey early afternoon set at Club der Visionäre to the peak of Panorama Bar closing set.

“I first had the chance to use a Sequential synth at the studio of my friend Benno Blome, a Berlin based producer and head of Sender records. We where working on some projects together and had a Prophet-6 in his studio then, and that was the first time I had the pleasure of working with a Sequential synthesizer. Out of all the gear that we used  in the studio, the Prophet-6 was definitely my favorite. I thought ‘mmm I need to get one one day’. And I did!

I use my Sequential synths on every single project, they are great for everything really, Basslines, pads, sound design, keys or anything, at the moment I’m working with a Prophet-6, Prophet ’08 and a Pro 3, witch by far my favorite tools in the studio. I think what stands out for me the most is the capability of achieving so many different types of sounds with a same synth, with the Pro 3 in particular, the modulation is out of this world, and the possibilities are endless – there is so much you can do with it, it has the most powerful modulation capabilities I have ever come across in a single synth.”
